The original Parsons School of Constructed Environment’s Faculty lounge was not much more than a 12’ x 12’ closet for the storage of equipment and a few personal items. The lack of a transparent door made the space unusable for teacher/student meetings and needed to be redesigned to address the academic regulations and needs of the faculty. The space was divided programmatically into storage, meeting, and presentation space. The space is comprised of custom-built furnishings, including a glass and aluminum door, a sliding table, movable shelving, and a series of aluminum lights that support perforated ceiling panels.
